Should I Upgrade To Windows Vista?Posted by Matt - November 28, 2007 on 2:56 pm | In Computer Security |Many people want to know if they should update to the New Window’s Vista. This makes me think of the commercial by Apple Computers. In the commercial the “PC” covers the microphone and admits to having “upgraded” - back - to Windows XP. I am in the same boat. After trying to use Windows Vista Ultimate edition for 3 months, I wiped my hard drive and re-installed XP and all of my programs (at least a 2 day affair… I have about a hundred extensions and programs to re-install). Why get rid of Vista? There were several things that annoyed me about Vista:
There are other reasons why I suggest folks not upgrade to Vista if they have XP. Now all new computers come preloaded with Vista so for those that are buying new computers I guess they will just have to bear with it. Am I against Microsoft and suggesting folks buy Apples? No, not at all. While Apple has a nice operating system, most computer software/programs are made to run on a PC. If you buy a Mac you are going to be limited in what software your able to run on it. (I have one program that I have invested several thousand dollar’s in for instance that just is not compatible.). Sure you could run a virtual OS like VMWare, but the programs will generally run much slower using VMWare on a Mac than they would running native on a PC. So… I guess I’ll stick with a PC and XP… for now anyways!
